Qualitas Funds launches its first secondaries fund with a hard cap of €100 million

Qualitas Funds launches its first secondaries fund, Qualitas Secondary Opportunities I. The new vehicle, with a hard cap of €100 million, will focus on the European lower mid-market, including the United Kingdom.

With its new secondaries strategy, Qualitas Funds expands its product range and complements the suite of solutions offered to its investors. At the same time, it completes a platform of investment vehicles capable of addressing the various financing challenges that may arise throughout the life of a fund. The secondaries strategy therefore joins its fund-of-funds programs, co-investment funds and NAV financing funds.

The more than 15 years of experience of RCP Advisors in secondary funds, also a strategy of Ridgepost Capital, will contribute positively to the launch of Qualitas Secondary Opportunities I and to the development and consolidation of the new strategy.

The fund, structured as an FCR and SCR, will invest in LP stakes, GP-led transactions and late primaries. This combination of different types of transactions in the secondary market will provide flexibility to deploy capital across different market environments and access opportunities originated by both LPs and managers, with the additional advantage of offering shorter return horizons than other private equity vehicles.

We have identified strong interest among our investor base in secondaries funds, which have evolved from a tactical strategy to a structural component within private equity portfolios. With the launch of Qualitas Secondary Opportunities I, we expand our ability to provide capital solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of a fund“, highlight Sergio García and Eric Halverson, founding partners of Qualitas Funds.
